Promo: "First Premiered: Cairo, Dar Elopera Al Misria Theatre, December 24, 1871
Opera Pacific’s 20th Anniversary celebration concludes with a beautiful production of Verdi’s epic masterpiece, Aida. Set in the pageantry of ancient Egypt and
strewn with the triumphal grandeur of Verdi’s music, Aida is one of the most moving and popular operas of all time. This tragic story of unlikely lovers separated by a
rival’s jealousy and doomed by family loyalty amid war and conquest inspires an unforgettable tale of overwhelming love and tremendous courage."
The opera is conducted by John DeMain and directed, with choreography, by Michèle Assaf. Another photo appears at the bottom of this page.
